Titília and Denomão - by Paulo Rezzutti
Descrição
The work that marked the editorial debut of writer and researcher Paulo Rezzutti arrives in a new edition in the series A História Untold, which includes the acclaimed D. Pedro, D. Leopoldina, Mulheres do Brasil and the brand new D. Pedro II, all signed by the author.
Titília and the Demonão retells the story of love and passion starring D. Pedro I and his most famous lover, Domitila de Castro Canto e Melo, the Marquise of Santos. To narrate the untold story of their relationship, Rezzutti turned to letters exchanged between them from 1823 to 1829. The emperor signed his messages as O Demonão, and Domitila was addressed by him as Nhá Titília.
Transcribed, contextualized and commented in a text that combines lightness and deep knowledge of History, the writings, found by Rezzutti in an archive in the United States, after being considered lost for almost two centuries, reveal surprising aspects of the love life of the emperor and the Marchioness of Saints and illuminate everyday life during the First Reign.
