Umbanda worships and works with Orixás. They are not "caboclos or phalangeiros" of Orixás, but the Orixás themselves, who manifest themselves in various ways, including mediumistically through incorporation. They have never incarnated and belong to a degree of adaptation to the incarnated and the individuals they incorporate, evidently still having to lower their high vibrational standard to do so.
