The materials contained in the Gospels can be divided into five parts: The common acts of the life of Christ, the miracles, the prophecies, the words that served to establish the dogmas of the Church and the moral teaching. If the first four parts were the object of controversies, the last one remained unassailable. Before this divine code, incredulity itself bows; it is the ground where all cults can meet again, the flag under which everyone can take shelter, whatever their beliefs.
