Descrição
It's Christmas, and Holden Caulfield has managed to get expelled from yet another school. With a few bucks from the sale of a typewriter and wearing his unfailing red hunting cap, the young man hatches an uncertain plan: take a train to New York and wander around the great city for three days, postponing his return to his parents' house until they receive news of expulsion from someone at school. His days and nights will be marked by confusing and occasionally heartbreaking encounters with strangers, fights with the most despicable types, encounters with ex-girlfriends, visits with his sister Phoebe -- the only creature in this world who seems to understand him -- and by doubts that will consume him during his stay, including a recurring question: after all, where do the ducks in Central Park go in winter? Above all these facts, concerns and thoughts, hovers the inimitable voice of Holden, the angry and idealistic teenager who wants to displace the world of "fajus", in an almost endless whirlwind of resentment, humor, sharp phrases, insecurity, bravado and rebellion juvenile.
