Domestic Violence and the Culture of Peace aims to discuss the problem of domestic violence in its multiple facets. The work is the result of discussions and works presented during the V Jornada Paulista de Terapia Família, APTF pela Paz, promoted by the Associação Paulista de Terapia Família (APTF). The work begins with the testimony of Maria da Penha, nationally known for her struggle to make this type of violence public, which resulted in the Brazilian law against violence against women, named after her. Among the topics covered are: Basic concepts about family violence, social and educational contextualization of occurrences of family violence, several articles that address violence at various stages of the family life cycle, intervention techniques and presentation of a course on therapy for violent couples . Domestic Violence and the Culture of Peace will certainly be of interest to professionals who already work in family therapy or those professionals who are interested in working with patients who have suffered some type of domestic violence.
