Descrição
The publisher Perspectiva brings to the Brazilian reader this 'Viaje a la Luna: a biography in projection', by Reto Melchior, offering a double journey. On the one hand, a precious and little-known work by the great Spanish poet and playwright, Federico García Lorca, the script for Viaje a la Luna, a cinematographic project only realized almost 70 years after it was conceived, in 1998, on the occasion of the centenary celebrations. of the poet, killed in 1936 by Francoist nationalists, of whom he was a fierce opponent. On the other, Reto Melchior's acute and sensitive analysis, revealing the thread of the intimate connection between the three great Spanish surrealist artists, Federico García Lorca, Luís Buñuel and Salvador Dalí, who, from intimate coexistence in the first years of their youth, became a uncomfortable divergence in maturity; the poet on one side, the painter and the filmmaker on the other. Viaje a la Luna would have been Lorca's response to 'An Andalusian Dog', by Buñuel and Dalí. This analysis results in a vibrant panel of an effervescent period in Spanish life, of great political contrasts and great artistic inventiveness in Europe and America.
