Book, Transvestites in dialogue on the academic track[LS]
Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. This book, which brings together a diversity of authors, themes, theoretical positions and political apprehensions, originates from research, developed in 2015, on the sociability of transvestites in the city of Belo Horizonte – a milestone in the trajectory of quantitative and qualitative studies about transvestites in Brazil. Considering that much of the quantitative research on transvestite experiences was produced with AIDS as a reference, this work intended much more to create bridges of dialogue between the street scene and academic tracks, based on joint production on the different transvestite sociability in the city . It thus mirrors a process driven by the country's trans and transvestite social movements of provoking the academic world to dialogue with experiences no longer taken as objects of investigation, but, now, as dialogical narratives about rights, the body, sex , the work, the violence and the condemnations that many experiences of diversity still face today. Here, these bridges between the two lanes are lifting and facing positions.
