Book, All poetry by Machado de Assis[LS]
Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. Machado de Assis is considered the greatest Brazilian writer of all time. Unanimously acclaimed by critics and readers as a master of fiction, only now is his poetry, a genre he practiced with equal mastery, being valued by researchers and scholars. Known only for a small number of his most popular poems, Machado, however, cannot be seen as a leap-forward poet, as he produced, throughout his life, a continuous and relevant poetic work. His literary career was marked by a constant dedication to poetry, from his debut in 1854, to his last famous sonnet, “A Carolina”, published in 1906. In the year that marks 100 years since his death, Editora Record launches TODA POETRY OF MACHADO DE ASSIS. Organized by Cláudio Murilo Leal, the book brings together for the first time, in a single volume, the entire poetic production of Machado de Assis. The publication of TODA POESIA DE MACHADO DE ASSIS, in addition to rescuing significant poems that, otherwise, could falling into complete oblivion, puts at the disposal of Machado's readers essential material for a global vision of the evolution of the poet's thought and technique. “In Machado, the prose writer and poet complement each other in a very original vision of the world”, says Cláudio.
