Continuing a highly successful didactic series, this anthology of texts on language brings together the ideas of great thinkers on the subject. Instead of “hearing about” or “reading about” what they think, the student will have the opportunity to deal directly with 35 texts by philosophers such as Plato, Saint Augustine, Heidegger and Foucault – commented by professor Danilo Marcondes, best-selling author of philosophy as an Initiation to the history of philosophy and Basic Dictionary of Philosophy. The selection privileged passages where the main ideas of the philosophical tradition about language are found. For each thinker there is an introduction, comments that place the chosen excerpts in the context of the original work and a series of questions and themes for discussion in the classroom, as well as recommendations for additional reading.
