Instead of "hearing" or reading about what they think, the student will have the opportunity to deal directly with around 30 classic texts by ancient, modern and contemporary philosophers and thinkers, such as Plato, Saint Thomas Aquinas, Kant, Robert Alexy , Wilfrid Waluchow and Frederick Schauer. Prepared by professors Danilo Marcondes and Noel Struchiner, the volume brings a selection that focuses on passages where the main ideas of the philosophy of law are found. For each thinker there is an introduction, comments that place the chosen excerpts in the context of the original work and a series of questions and themes for discussion in the classroom, as well as recommendations for additional reading.
