Book, Elementary Number Theory 7/16[LS]
Descrição
Mathematics — subject feared by most students, whether they are in high school or undergraduate. Many finish their studies without understanding it and, therefore, without valuing knowledge and its practical application in everyday life. Number theory is no different — as it belongs to the field of Pure and Applied Sciences, it is not always approached with due care. This attitude harms the training of professionals both in teaching and in other areas in which it is inserted. Elementary Number Theory tries to rescue the value of this knowledge. The presentation of a simple, direct text that allows easy demonstration of concepts favors learning and the growing interest of students. Theory and practice go together and enrich knowledge. This seventh edition brings improvements over the previous ones. For example, the evolution of computers allowed the improvement of questions related to primality testing, integer factorization and cryptographic applications, the latter of which had its content expanded. In Chapter 13 the concept of universal quadratics was introduced; in Chapter 15 a new section on Farey fractions was included and in Chapter 16 the section on Bernoulli numbers was added. This is certainly a reference book for undergraduate students, technologists in the area of Exact Sciences and, above all, for those whose thirst for improvement and knowledge is always sharp.
