Descrição
Painter, set designer, theater director and pedagogue, Leopold Sulerzhitski is one of the most prominent names in the Russian theatrical revolution of the early 20th century. With a captivating personality and a supporter of Tolstoy's pacifist and anarchist ideas, he was a central figure in the dissemination of the system created by Stanislavsky and in the founding of the Moscow Art Theater, and also one of the main proponents of an actor's pedagogy. Despite this, his work and ideas are little known among us. Sulerjítski - Master of Theater, Master of Life: His Artistic and Pedagogical Quest, by Daniela Simone Terehoff Merino, responds to this omission, interweaving an analysis of the personal trajectory and work of Súler - as his friends called him - with direct translations of the Russian of two of his texts, 'On the Relations Between Actor and Director' and 'From the Diaries'.
