Book, Stanislavski and the method of active analysis: creation of the director[LS]
Descrição
Stanislavski and the 'Method of Active Analysis: The Creation of the Director and the Actor' scrutinizes, defines and specifies the method of active analysis and its instrument of creation, the method of physical actions, within Stanislavski's so-called 'system'. The method's approach is based on primary sources, theoretical and practical, and its development by renowned intellectuals and artists from the Russian scene who wrote about this knowledge and applied it in their creations. Nair D'Agostini discusses the active analysis method and its application by the director when reading the text; clarifies what the method consists of; and explains the process of knowledge of the dramatic work and the elements necessary for its analysis through action, and then exposes the laws of scenic creation, a fundamental requirement of the 'system' in the training of the creative actor to use the method of physical actions. The work also includes the translation, directly from Russian, of the stenograms of the last rehearsal classes taught by Stanislavski on the new method of physical actions in the Studio of Opera and Dramatic Art during the analysis and creation of the role of Hamlet for Shakespeare's play of the same name. .
