This is the case, in particular, of the letters exchanged with Willem van Blyenbergh, which constitute a well-defined theory regarding Evil, while those addressed to Oldenburg and De Vries provide the first draft of Ethics. Also part of this volume is the first biography dedicated to him, in 1705, written by Johannes Colerus, minister of the Lutheran church in The Hague, who had the opportunity to interview several people who had lived with Spinoza.
