Descrição
Foucault's courses that paved the way for his History of sexuality. In the 1960s, Michel Foucault began a project on an archeology of sexuality as a modern experience. In the following decades, this would result in one of his most famous and important works: History of sexuality. At the origin of this study are two notable courses previously unpublished in Brazil — the first presented in 1964 at the University of Clermont-Ferrand and the second in 1969 at the University of Vincennes. In both, Foucault pays permanent attention to the economic, social and epistemological conditions that transformed sexuality into an object of knowledge and a political issue, refusing a narrow conception of the human subject. About sexuality is a look that paves the way for us to understand sexuality as a complex space of transgressive power and tragic experience.
