Through the experience of the neurotic we learn everything we know about the structure of the subject and the dialectic of desire. In this regard, Freud states that the last term he reached, which was insurmountable for him, was castration anxiety. Starting from a better articulation of the reality of the experience pointed out by Freud, Lacan proposes that the supreme impasse of the neurotic is not constituted by the castration anxiety itself, and debates new ways to understand it. Since 1973, Jacques-Alain Miller has been releasing the 26 volumes of The Seminar, referring to the seminars given by Lacan in Paris, from 1953 to 1980 – indispensable for comprehensive knowledge of the revolutionary reading undertaken by Lacan of Freud's work. Closely following the releases in France, Zahar publishes yet another great contribution to the psychoanalytic field in Brazil.
