Book, Elementary Principles of Chemical Processes 4/18[LS]
Descrição
The fourth edition of Elementary Principles of Chemical Processes features the expansion of the scope of Chemical Engineering, starting from applications in Industrial Chemistry and Petrochemistry to the inclusion of applications focused on the biomedical, biochemical, biomolecular, environmental, energy, materials and security. This new approach expands the range of undergraduate courses that can make use of the techniques recorded here to analyze and solve problems related to processes, and can go beyond their adoption in Chemical Engineering. There are around 350 new and revised problems at the end of the chapters, in addition to an unprecedented set of resources for students and teachers, with a spreadsheet-based tool that eliminates the need for routine calculations. However, the systematic structure that consists of analyzing problems before solving them was maintained. There are also exercises aimed at developing critical and creative thinking skills and understanding industrial and social contexts. Some of them are in sections titled “creativity exercises” and “exploring and discovering exercises” and can give students a sense of the challenging and intellectually stimulating possibilities experienced in a career in Chemical Engineering. To complement the text, there are several supplementary materials online, such as case studies and the APEx application, accompanied by its tutorials, available on GEN-IO – GEN | National Editorial Group –, upon registration. See the preface and opening pages of the work for more details.
