Book, Poetry of refusal[LS]
Book, Poetry of refusal[LS]
Descrição
In defense of Mallarmé, Valéry once stated that severe work, in literature, manifests itself and operates through refusals, one could say that it is measured by the number of refusals. From aesthetic refusal (Mallarmé) to ethical refusal (Tzvietáieva), if both are not confused into one, this poetry, a bulwark against the easy, the conventional and the imposing, remained on the sidelines and needs to be remembered so that its essential greatness loom large over the debasement of cultural cosmetics. The poets gathered here have in common the banner of refusal. Not all the poets presented in this book strictly belong to the category of 'inventors'. But they are all extraordinary artisans of the poetic craft, from whom there is much to learn. And here they are represented, as much as possible, by their most radical proposals, whether through language or through their ethical-aesthetic stance. From Kuhlmann to Dylan Thomas, poetry is shown here in all its ethical and aesthetic integrity. The chosen texts manifest forms of disagreement with society or with life, capable of awakening this revolutionary impetus in readers and making their experiences enriched with the painful experience of poetic refusal.
