Pablo Neruda (Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971) wrote lightly. He wanted to touch everyone, just as everyone and everything touched him. He made an ode to scissors, tomatoes and pianos with the same ardor with which he spoke about the most celebrated of feelings. The poems in this selection were translated by fellow poet Marília Garcia and are accompanied by collage illustrations by the award-winning Odilon Moraes.
