Book, Pluriverse of Human Rights Diversity Struggles for Dignity[LS]
Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. Human rights can only be given new meaning through answers to simple questions: Why is there so much unfair human suffering that is not considered a violation of human rights? What other languages of human dignity exist in the world? Are these other languages compatible with the language of human rights or not? These questions can only be answered satisfactorily if we can imagine a radical transformation of what we today recognize as human rights. This volume brings together 21 texts that portray the dialogue of researchers from all continents, who confront us with themes and social realities that invite us to think about the place of human rights in the struggles against capitalism, colonialism and patriarchy. Through the texts gathered here, the pages of this book present a pluriverse of languages, geographies and bodies in struggle that show how much the hegemonic, north-centric conception of human rights is today at an impasse as a language of emancipatory transformation of societies.
