Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. A subtle and delicate novel, which addresses the pain of separation and the passage of time on the plain – home and metaphor, including for the cultivation of one's own writing. “In the city, you lose track of time, of the passage of time. In the field this is impossible.” This is the beginning of the story of a man who changes address, from the city to the countryside, in search of his past and his future. After the end of the relationship with his boyfriend, the protagonist and narrator goes in search of isolation in a place where time is almost palpable and it is possible to cultivate memory, experience grief and restructure oneself for a new life. In Plains, the space is the province, the interior of Argentina and its landscapes, as a counterpoint to life in the metropolis. The reflections of this character, also a writer, bring the elaboration of losses, mourning and the processes of writing closer to caring for a vegetable garden, without ceasing to draw on childhood, memory and maturity. Prose full of poetry and precision, between silences and learning, which points to the importance of telling our stories.
