Descrição
If it was still possible to consider two traditional human establishments until the first decades of the 20th century -- the city as a coherent urban organism and the village as a coherent rural organism -- the transformations that occurred, especially after the Second World War, with the chaotic explosion of cities and its congestion, radically changed the vision of urban planners and architects. With a clear perception of this fact, Le Corbusier, in Urban Planning, which the publishing house Perspectiva now releases in its third edition, analyzes and proposes the goals of a new architectural and urban vision capable of placing man in an environment that simultaneously privileges the human and the natural. To read and study Le Corbusier today is to be inspired by the boldness of his ideas, his power of prediction and creation that allowed him to design new and congenial establishments for a future, which in many aspects is already that of today, when the speed of the machine is being replaced, with all the acceleration that the phenomenon imparts to its rhythm, by the speed of information in optical fiber cables.
