The book Legal Dentistry and Forensic Anthropology covers concepts of Common Law, implications of Dentistry with Criminal Law and Civil Law, and challenges that dentists face when they need to attend an environment completely different from the office or clinic, such as the Forum . The work facilitates research by addressing crucial topics that are not always well developed in the literature and in Health courses, such as current procedures in the study of DNA and their expert importance; photography application and techniques; measures to be taken in situations of mistreatment of minors, in light of the Child and Adolescent Statute; ethical behavior guidelines; and instructions so that the dentist can face problems that arise from the complex intricacies of the Law. Differences and novelties • The content is in accordance with the requirements established by Resolution CFO-63, of 2005, which establishes the area of ​​activity of Forensic Dentistry, a specialty that aims to research psychic, physical, chemical and biological phenomena that can hitting or having hit the man, alive, dead or bone, and even fragments or traces, resulting in partial or total reversible or irreversible injuries. • Presents in the Appendices Law No. 5,081, of 1966, which regulates the practice of Dentistry; the Dental Code of Ethics, approved by Resolution CFO-118, 2012; the Consolidation of Standards for Procedures in Dental Councils, approved by Resolution CFO-63, of 2005; the Consumer Protection Code, updated until the changes introduced by Law No. 13,486, of 2017; and the World Health Organization's classifications of dental interest, according to the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10). • New chapters on the relationship between daily professional life and burnout syndrome, proposing coping mechanisms; the application, in Forensic Dentistry, of the Ishikawa Diagram, a graphic representation that serves to help organize reasoning and discuss ideas during the problem-solving process; and a successful case of legal dental assistance in solving an intentional crime.
