Book, Nervura do real, A vol 1 immanence and freedom Spinoza 2v[LS]
Descrição
The Judeo-Christian tradition believes in the existence of a supreme transcendent being who, through an act of will, creates the world and human beings, giving them the free will to choose between good and evil. When Spinoza (1632-77) states: "God, that is, Nature", he subverts this belief. It demonstrates that absolute being is immanent in the universe and that all things are necessary effects of its action. There are countless interpretations of Spinoza's work; some even consider that, for him, human freedom is impossible. In this book, which is the result of more than thirty years of studies, Marilena Chaui opposes such a view and shows that the immanence of God in Nature is the necessary condition for the existence of individual beings and their freedom.
