Descrição
A diplomat holding his first post abroad (as vice consul), Vinicius de Moraes landed in Los Angeles, California, in 1946, and would spend the next five years there. It was a period in which, in addition to living with the Brazilian artistic colony based in Hollywood - in which Carmen Miranda shone as its gravitational center - and with names from American cinema, such as Orson Welles, Vinicius began to delve into a new musical universe. : jazz. Fascinated by the suffering history of black Americans and mesmerized by the variety of rhythms in the music that emerged from the intersection of the cultures of slaves and European colonizers, the future bossa nova composer frequented clubs, recording studios and specialized record stores, in addition to forming camaraderie with dozens of musicians, composers and lovers of this musical genre. With little-known texts collected by Eucanaã Ferraz and a graphic project by the Warrakloureiro studio that takes up the language of the golden age of jazz albums (from labels like Blue Note and others), Jazz & Co. celebrates Vinicius de Moraes with everything he distinguished the author: music, literature and lots of beauty.
