The result of more than fifteen years dedicated to teaching philosophy, this true guide to the history of Western thought places thinkers and philosophical currents in their historical context, discusses ideas and concepts and, when necessary, presents the most relevant texts by the philosophers in question, such as Plato's myth of the cave or Kant's table of judgments and categories. Chronologically divided into four parts – ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary philosophy –, after each chapter the book provides synoptic tables that recapitulate the material studied, a selection of suggested readings, in addition to proposing questions and themes for discussion in the classroom, the which reinforces and translates the expressly didactic character of the work.
