Book, History of design (Fusco)[LS]
Descrição
The first and most complete History of Design, edited, abundantly illustrated. From the Industrial Revolution to our time, Renato De Fusco examines one of the main cultural and socioeconomic phenomena of the contemporary era, based on its most specific aspects, design, production, sale and consumption. Taken as an expository and analytical device, in order to bridge the gap between theory and history, they encompass a production process that, unlike others, such as the plastic arts, is not based only on the creators and the work created, as the sellers, consumers, the cultural environment and technological advancement have the same weight, at certain times even assuming a certain role in the chain of events. What De Fusco seeks, and achieves, is to free design from its subservient position to architecture, as well as from mythologies and utopianisms of an aesthetic or intellectual nature, exalting the 'force of things' and design as an eminently practical activity. Unpublished publication in Brazil, translated from Italian.
