Book, Grammatology[LS]
Descrição
Jacques Derrida is today one of the most representative figures of French philosophical thought in the post-structuralist period. This work of his - the second to be translated into Portuguese by the publishing house Perspectiva, a pioneer in the author's publication in Brazil - became an obligatory reference in the critical debate on the whole of Western thought, designated in the book as 'logocentrism'. The formation of a Grammatology (or science of the possibility of science) aims to break this 'logocentric' condition, maintained and nurtured within a strict conception of 'writing'. In search of a broader conception that encompasses a total system open to all possible loads of meaning, the author calls into question once again the debatable opposition form/content, examining it in particular as it resurfaces within linguistics from Saussure. Troubetzkói, Jakobson, Martinet, Halle, Hjelmslev, are names - among others - that do not escape his acute critical appreciation.
