This book is organized into 11 chapters and three parts and presents quality management techniques grouped into two management levels: strategic and operational. Part I deals with the evolution of quality management and the quality system, comprising Chapters 1 to 3. Part II presents various techniques developed for quality management in production operations. Chapters 5 to 7 present and discuss the QFD, FMEA and Six Sigma methods, while 8 deals in more detail with the techniques used in Six Sigma. Strategic management methods are presented in Part III, where Chapter 9 deals with strategic quality management, while Chapters 10 and 11 cover performance measurement and benchmarking. The concepts and techniques discussed here are presented and explained with easy-to-understand examples. At the end of each chapter, the reader will find bibliographical references for further reading and questions for discussion.
