Book, Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering 5/19[LS]
Descrição
Following the already established pedagogical approach of previous publications, the 5th edition of Fundamentals of Materials Science and Engineering – An Integrated Approach presents the essentials for teaching the subject. To achieve a better understanding of the contents, university students must have already completed the basic cycle of Calculus, Chemistry and Physics. The twenty chapters are interconnected, following a logical order that progresses from the simplest to the most complex concepts, all with a level of detail that varies according to the degree of depth required to understand each topic. Practical questions were included according to the subject covered. Likewise, additional resources such as photos, illustrations, graphs, special sections for important materials and concept verification facilitate content retention. Among the highlights of this edition are: new case studies; revising discussions on crystallographic plans and directions to include equations; review of discussions and expansion of subjects such as structures, properties and applications of nanocarbons (fullerenes, carbon nanotubes and graphene and on ceramic and abrasive refractories); and new and revised example problems. In addition, there are several supplementary materials available on GEN-IO, GEN | National Editorial Group, upon registration, for students and teachers, such as the case study library, demonstrations and experiments.
