Book, Freud Love Sexuality Femininity[LS]
Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. This volume brings together texts by Freud that address some of the most controversial ideas in psychoanalysis – such as the hypothesis of original bisexuality, the Oedipus and castration complexes, infantile sexuality, the primacy of the phallus and penis envy. Completing the collection are a dozen letters from Freud about the inherent bisexuality of human beings and a moving letter in response to an anonymous American mother concerned about her son's homosexuality. It is no coincidence that some of these texts caused a scandal, and they never stopped doing so. On the one hand, civilized sexual morality, the scientific establishment and certain values of the bourgeois family were strongly disturbed and even offended by psychoanalytic ideas about infantile sexuality, the inherent bisexual disposition of the human being or the cleavage between anatomical position and sexual position; on the other hand, others saw precisely the opposite: the continuation of a binary logic of sexuality, the prolongation of patriarchy or the hypostasis of phallocentrism. This polarization of reception shows, in itself, the complexity of Freud's positions, which requires a careful and subtle reading. Such reading is favored, in this edition, by the addition of extensive editorial notes that contextualize each text, a comprehensive historical introduction and an afterword by Maria Rita Kehl on “Freud and women”.
