Book, Freud: the plot of concepts[LS]
Descrição
Freud's work, complex and multifaceted, can be approached from several angles. This book by Renato Mezan proposes a reading through the web of concepts: seeking the internal articulation of Freudian notions, it aims to unveil their mode of engendering and their reciprocal relationships. Conceptual networks are thus presented, which correspond to different movements in Freud's theoretical elaboration, enabling a vision that is both diachronic - the transformations undergone by a given notion throughout the work - and synchronic - as such transformations are linked to the entire conceptual apparatus invented to account for the psychoanalytic experience. Without being tied to specific tendencies of interpretation of the Freudian legacy, the aim here is to follow the theoretical impasses generated by the functioning of concepts and inflections that are sometimes decisive in their reciprocal articulation. 'Freud: The Weave of Concepts' thus constitutes in a well-plotted overview of the work of the founder of psychoanalysis and, therefore, in a precious systematic introduction to his conceptual universe, offering the specialist an important working tool and, for the beginner, a safe way of accessing fundamental discussions of the field. On the other hand, this study opens up, to psychologists, psychiatrists, philosophers and specialists in other human disciplines, the new perspectives that they, together with psychoanalysts, begin to explore in interdisciplinary conjugations and 'revisions'.
