This third edition of Clinical Pharmacology for Dentists repeats the success of previous editions and brings expansions and deepening of its themes, in order to maintain the current nature of the work and its relevance among dentistry professionals, students and teachers. In this edition, the structuring into units and sections, the review of classic pharmacological concepts, the description of useful tools for learning pharmacological-clinical content and the critical discussion of what is really valid and clinically relevant in decision-making involving medications in dental treatments. Now, the chapters increase from 44 to 48, with new themes, such as the rational use of medicines, search, selection and analysis of sources of scientific information, critical reading of scientific information and dental management of patients with HIV infection and AIDS/ AIDS. A new section was also added, entitled Clinical Pharmacology of Coagulation, composed of the chapter Antiplatelet agents, anticoagulants and hemostatics. The clinical-pharmacological cases were also expanded, serving for classroom work, as well as for content review by professionals who need it.
