Speak... Read... Write... Portuguese – A Course for Foreigners underwent major modifications in order to update and complete the work: new texts were created, some exercises were replaced and more grammatical items were included. However, the objective and conception of the work remained. This is a book prepared with the intention of providing foreign audiences with an active and situational method for learning the Portuguese language, aiming at understanding and oral and written expression at a level of correct colloquial language. The large number of exercises in each unit was preserved, as the success of the first edition showed that they function as support for the teacher's learning and work. These exercises have two fundamental objectives: to establish grammatical structures and to develop oral and written expressions in a directed and spontaneous way. This is a complete method in itself up to the intermediate level, which takes the complete beginner student to speak, read and write fluently in Portuguese. Furthermore, it aims to enable you to continue your learning at an advanced level.
