A book of great use for our literary scholars, as, in addition to disseminating in a clear and irreproachable way the ideas of the Russian formalists and linguistic structuralism, it gives the reader weapons to discover the structures that exist underlying every narrative and establish a repertoire of intrigues, functions and visions. These are some of the objectives of this book, which takes the formalists' reflections forward and updates them in the light of contemporary linguistics.
