Language: Brazilian Portuguese. In this book, Michel de Certeau identifies the fundamental stages of historiography and its different approaches over time, establishing a dialogue between various areas of knowledge. Religion, epistemology, methodology and semiotics coexist and converge towards the same objective: to trace the itinerary of a historian and the path of questions that lead to the development of his narrative. In this process, the author also resorts to philosophy and psychoanalysis – which support observations about difference, cut and discontinuity –, always guided by the perspective of politics and ethics.
