Book, Historical Schools, As[LS]
Book, Historical Schools, As[LS]
Descrição
Language: Brazilian Portuguese. The discourses of the historical method and the different ways of writing history, let's say, to simplify, the successive or competing “schools”: that's what this book is about. Its ambition is, above all, pedagogical: the authors expose, in a clear and synthetic way, the evolution of historical production from the Middle Ages to the 1980s. This study is not limited, therefore, to a bibliography: it discusses the main approaches (practice ) and the main theories (epistemology) of historiography. The reader will find here what is necessary to know about the Annales school and the Nouvelle Histoire, about Clio's relations with Marxism and structuralism, and about uncontroversial authors who provided important guideposts for contemporary critical reflection (Henri-Irénée Marrou, Paul Veyne, Miche de Certeau, among others).
