"A Sketch of the Past" is one of Virginia Woolf's last texts. At almost sixty years old, the author intended to write an autobiography and the memories contained in the work are an essay in this direction. In a hybrid and poetic language, mixing autobiographical writing with diary practice, we follow a movement of remembrance. Woolf reflects on her past from the perspective of the moment in which she writes. Family issues, notable events and a discussion about the language of his writing come into focus. "A sketch of the past" was translated by Ana Carolina Mesquita, a specialist in the author's work, being the first work by Virginia Woolf published by Editora Nós.
