Based on a critical analysis of the political commercial American Stories/American Solutions (aired by Barack Obama's campaign during the 2008 presidential elections in the United States) and the ethnic-racial representation regimes historically produced in/by Hollywood cinema, The Effect Black Enchanted seeks to demonstrate how ethnic-racial identities are cinematographically constructed, how the racial meanings in them and produced by them relate to the political and social realities of specific historical periods, and the ideological discourses of racial supremacy that these representations reproduce.
