Book, Education and Health Promotion Theory and Practice 2/19[LS]
Descrição
Economic development is traditionally seen by society as the most efficient way to improve living conditions and promote equity. In recent decades, some of these objectives have been achieved by a part of the Brazilian population; however, a significant portion of citizens still do not enjoy the benefits brought by development. Inequities still persist and have worsened in recent years, impacting environmental, living and health conditions. The second edition of Health Education and Promotion | Theory and Practice, expanded and updated, aims to help reverse this situation. Diactically structured, it covers the conceptual bases, principles and values of education and health promotion, focusing on different areas of activity, such as hospitals, municipalities and schools, in addition to presenting the interrelationship between local and global aspects of health promotion and its effects on social development. Recommended for all professionals interested in promoting health, this work, which has the valuable contribution of significant representatives in the area, presents concepts and examples of new ways of approaching themes related to social inequality, covering a gap in the literature on promotion and health education.
