By signing famous partnerships with names such as Waly Salomão, Augusto de Campos and Antonio Cicero, Adriana Calcanhotto consolidated her musical career with both feet firmly planted in poetry. An avid reader of contemporary writing, she selected 41 poets born in Brazil between 1973 and 1990 to create an anthology that is “personal, non-transferable, authorial, or the opposite”. On a summer trip, instead of carrying 42 books in your suitcase, the organizer presents a sample of new and brand-new poets in a single volume. It’s “my vacation book,” she explains. With humor and melancholy, the verses, put together, form a vibrant and multiple panorama of current poetry — spread across soirées, blogs and, why not?!, books. Each in their own way, the poems have one characteristic in common: they talk about this moment, this minute, this now like never before.
