Book, Dictionary of Brazilian theater: themes, forms and concepts[LS]

The Dictionary of Brazilian Theater implements an editorial and academic project. Editorial, because Perspectiva, whose interest in scenic art and particularly in Brazilian theatrical production has already been expressed in almost two hundred titles dedicated to the different aspects and approaches of this genre of creation, had long aimed to bring together a repertoire that was accessible and reliable to scholars and practitioners of our scenic universe. Academic, because, from the outset, the organizers thought of bringing to this work the great contribution that research and university studies provided for the enormous historical and aesthetic expansion and deepening of what was, has been and is the artistic operation and the corresponding critical reflection in this domain of national culture. Combining these two plans, the present work, which we make available to our reading public, incorporates in a comprehensive volume, and in the light of careful academic filtering, the most characteristic and significant aspects of modern Brazilian theater.
