Book, From poetry (Hilda Hilst)[LS]
Descrição
Honored author of Flip 2018 For the first time, Hilda Hilst's poetic production, spread across more than twenty books, is brought together in a single volume. Hilda Hilst's intense and prolific literary activity unfolded in fiction books and plays, but it was in poetry that she began and ended her career. Over the course of 45 years, between 1950 and 1995, the poet published in small print runs thanks to the enthusiasm of independent publishers — most notably Massao Ohno, her friend and main promoter. In the early 2000s, Hilda's titles began to be published by Globo, a publisher with wide distribution. At that time, his writing, until then considered marginal and hermetic, began to receive the interest of a legion of readers and scholars. Now, Companhia das Letras brings together, for the first time, the entire poetic writing of the author of Bufólicas in a single book, which includes, in addition to more than 20 titles, a section of unpublished and critical reviews. The material contains an afterword by Victor Heringer, a letter from Caio Fernando Abreu to Hilda, two excerpts by Lygia Fagundes Telles about her friend and an interview given to Vilma Arêas, published in Jornal do Brasil in 1989. Hilda's poetry — which takes shape in songs, ballads, sonnets and free verse poems — explores death, loneliness, erotic love, madness and mysticism. By fusing the sacred and the profane, the poet established herself as one of the most transgressive voices in Brazilian literature of the 20th century.
