Descrição
In Crime in the Light of Lacanian Psychoanalysis, after having studied punishments in the work Critique of Punitive Reason, the author brings to light the study of crime, at the same time through the social and subjective dimensions. Motta investigates crime from the perspective of psychoanalysis of Lacanian orientation, with the three registers of the structure as the reading axis. This research is based on the concepts of Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan and Jacques-Alain Miller on crimes perpetrated by psychotics. Its main objective is to place crimes in the Real, Symbolic and Imaginary registers, taking into account the uniqueness of the cases. This is a study of the cases of Aimée and the Papin sisters interpreted by Lacan, the case of Landru, a serial killer from the “belle époque”, the cases of Ulrich and Pierre Rivière. The thesis aims to contribute to the establishment of a Lacanian theory of crime, which Lacan outlined in his reflections on aggressiveness and in his text on criminology. Delirium and transition to the act are questioned in their relationship with the three registers. From the position of the criminal subject, we discuss the contribution of psychoanalysis to clarify the relationship between crime and the social bond.
