Book, Phonological awareness in early childhood education and the alphabet cycle[LS]

Language: Brazilian Portuguese. What is phonological awareness? What skills are part of this human capacity to reflect on words and their parts? In the case of Portuguese, what are the phonemic awareness skills that really matter for a child to master alphabetical writing? This book seeks to clarify these fundamental questions and presents the reader with a didactic proposal with a constructivist orientation, with playful teaching situations, already tested in different classrooms. In them, learners are motivated to “look inside the words” and, thus, discover the mystery behind writing with the alphabet. Using games, poems and songs, the literacy teaching presented here aims to encourage children to assume a curious and pleasurable attitude when playing with the oral and written words of our language.
