One of the most daring experiments in the history of Brazilian comics, Baiacu is the anarchic and surprising creation of the geniuses Angeli and Laerte. A book, an artistic residency, an aesthetic experience. Baiacu marks the return of one of the most legendary partnerships in Brazilian comics. And what a return! For this book, Angeli and Laerte selected ten great artists and brought them together in a residency at the equally legendary Casa do Sol, where the Hilda Hilst Institute now operates. For two weeks, the artists worked together to conceive and create the blowfish, a free and open work that experiments with the language of comics, poetry, prose and photography. The result is one of the most vibrant, new and strange books in Brazilian comics. The ten artists were joined by Baiacu's own editors, who collaborated with drawings and stories, and five more writers and poets, to complete the team that conceived, created and designed the book. A walk through generations, points of view, life perspectives, styles and voices.
