August Stramm (1874-1915) bequeathed to us a set of poems that, despite being short, impress vividly with their thematic obsession, their textural audacity and the radicality of their speech. In their acute and aggressive verticalization, their stark lyrical constructs await us: stalactites of blood in the dark depths of the unfathomable cave of human mystery - they shine if illuminated and so dense and succinct they seem to cut like a knife into our emotion and sensitivity.
