Book, Italian architecture in São Paulo[LS]

Italian Architecture in São Paulo is the first work to systematically address Italian participation in the architectural work of São Paulo, from the last quarter of the 19th century. It follows the production of an urban space, which is distinguished by its collective characteristic and is due to the anonymous group of immigrants, the starting point of the process, until the contemporary work, individually signed by architects of the same extraction. But everything that this pioneering research raises and discusses in the field of specific group contributions also has a fundamental interest in the configuration of important cultural elements of the greatest significance in Brazilian society and, mainly, in São Paulo. It is, therefore, an indispensable work for socio-urban and socio-architectural studies of our history and culture.
