Original as it may be, it does not exhaust or exclude interpretations such as that of Steiner, Vernant and Reinhardt, whose perceptions, as well as a tradition that is several thousand years old in tragediographic exegesis, only give the measure of the intellectual, existential and human breadth of the text created by Sophocles. The poetic quality and language resources, used with such proficiency by the translator in our language, only accentuate this power of speaking about man and his ways of being with a voice that, from the depths of history, projects the meanings into the infinite future. of human existence.
