Little Yellow Cockade - by Yaguarê Yamã
Descrição
In a bilingual story, Little Yellow Cockade teaches us about affection and courage
Little Yellow Cockade is a very brave 10-year-old girl who was assigned by her mother to a mission: to take a basket of kisses to her sick grandmother. Familiar, right?
Little Yellow Cocktail takes up the classic story of Little Red Riding Hood in a very Brazilian way, without neglecting the importance of affection and, of course, exalting our roots. In a bilingual book (in Portuguese and Nheengatu, a language originating from the ancient Tupi that was spoken on the Brazilian coast), writer Yaguarê Yamã and illustrator Uziel Guaynê show the beauties of the forest and the history that must be worked on and respected.
At the end, the book provides information about the Nheengatu language and a brief glossary with words from this language, which was the official language of Brazil during a period of our history and which is today a lingua franca in the Rio Negro region, Baixo Tapajós and in some places of the Lower Amazon, where it is spoken by riverside and indigenous populations.
